I get a lot of compliments on my style. To be honest, at times I think they are left handed compliments. For example, if I had a dollar for every time someone says, "How do you walk in those shoes?" I'd have Warren Buffet beat financially. Seriously? How do you answer that question? One foot in front of the other? But, I just smile and keep it moving. The thing that's most curious is that I don't spend a lot on clothes, shoes or anything of that nature, I'm not a big spender, rather a savvy shopper. I used to follow a really cool blog and she had so many do it yourself projects I felt it was so cool to take something and make it your own. I bought these boring shoes at Target for less than $10.00. They were in the clearance aisle and with some glue, rhinestones, and tape I made them my own. Here's what I did:

Cleaned the top of the shoes to ensure there was a smooth and clean surface to attach the stones.
Figured out the location I wanted for the stones and marked the location on the shoe.
Applied glue to the surface of the shoe and attached the rhinestones for about an hour.
Took some tape and placed it over the rhinestones to ensure they dried without slipping or losing the pressure needed to hold the gems in place.

The ugly shoes that looked plain and ordinary have become the beautiful swan.

Remember my rant to Target re: Cynthia Vincent? Umm yeah, I didn't take that so well. I told them ~~to suck it~~ how I was not pleased with their limited availability. So, I took it on the chin and found two pairs of smart heels at Payless ! I think each pair were $39.99 so I think when I finished with stacking coupons, I paid shy of $50. This pair was a mistake. Oops! I thought I selected the gladiator platforms Dulce has and the clogs, but these were what I chose. They were meant to be a dusty pink, but they appear more of a bone color in actuality. They are comfortable, and true to size. The only con is the straps. I don't know how I feel about the bow. I may switch it forward to the front or remove it and attach some clips to jazz them up. I know they are trendy, not suited for long hours of wear, nor do I expect them to be "classics" I will wear for seasons to come, but they're fun for the summer.

Over all, I like these shoes. My feet are in dire need of assistance, but I am not used to this new camera, and haven't figured out how to get the best out of it. I prefer the cheap one I had, it took better photos. I'd recommend these shoes for summer dinner parties, maybe dancing and definitely weddings. They have potential, but I don't see me "loving" these as much as the other pair.

So...perusing a shoe store I saw the most wicked pair of boots evar! :) I bought the boots! They were the last pair in my size and they will replace the pair I brought with me from Europe! But, as I looked closer, what struck me was the heel. It had this bit of plastic on the spike part which made it interesting to say the least. I found out the sales assistant had attached a pair of sole mates to them. They were $6.99 for one pair but I did research and found four pair for $19.99 plus s/h at QVC!

I wore the following shoes to work one day and my co-worker told me "those shoes can do damage." Guess what? She was right! Although I don't walk on the grass, which is what these were said to be designed for. They don't get hooked on the cracks in the pavement when I'm walking across the Capital on my way to work. One day I may try walking on the grass of the Capital Park, but with the weather being so bad, I'd save it until I know I won't slip on my bum!

I would recommend getting them from the QVC store in order to save money, but if you only want black, you may be better off buying one pair from the website. They come on and off, but I like having a backup/surplus (just in case)!
