Spotted! Marine Life & a Unicorn!!!
Erm....so I've been away from writing.  Why?  Because everywhere I look I'm forced to hear, see, or engage in the topic of Back to the Beach.  It is so ridiculous funny to me how people are selling crack their kids to get this blush.  Have they even used the highly overrated coveted Ripe Peach yet?  There's something to the MAC being laced with crack.  I think the genius who comes up with a twelve step program for beauty addicts will retire a very wealthy bloke or lass.  Seriously, all MAC has done is watered down their formula, created a bi monthly release (easy to do as themes are everywhere) and call it limited edition and the hysteria begins.
Every week their are hauls, blogs, swatches, "siting" and even auctions for something MAC released sure to be re released under some cool packaging and voila, people lose their rabid minds.  Of course, there is no other blush with over spray like this on the planet.  None of the many brands have any coral blush with a chalky highlighter.  "But it's pigmented!" Bitch please! Are you telling me it's a good thing the blush is pigmented?  Seriously?  What is the purpose of all the other blushes?  This means you are admitting that MAC doesn't normally sell blushes that are pigmented.  So, since this one is, you'll buy ten of them "just in case."  In case what?  They stop re promoting their shit products?  Now why would they be dumb enough to stop doing what's nothing more than a marketing GENIUS? There's too many suckers who have fallen into the scarcity principle.  I cannot believe people are willing to go so far for a product, knowing the engine is still cooling from doing the same thing for another item last week.  Lemme think...Book of Shadows, grease paints, Lady GaGa for Viva Glam, Spring Forecast, etc. I'm stopping as I found myself in one of those lines.  While I'm trying to eliminate a lot of this stuff, I'm curious as to the innate need for "just one more hit purchase." Come on, you have to admit we are being ridiculous.  Sitting and watching hauls, bitching about people who bought more than two, bidding on them for $68.00+, blogging, swatching, different looks and so on only to know this will start up for Stereo Rose.  Why are we doing this?  If it really means insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results, we need to focus on our priorities.  Sure we can't control the oil leak, but aren't there some different ways to spend money?  I know I have enough makeup for every city in the world to have one care package with a full face set included.  So, I guess I'll get my next hit fix right there with you. *wink*

Hello Beautiful Ones,
I had one heck of a Friday.  I got a lot done, I shook off yesterday, I thought but I decided to voyage to the local CCO.  I grab the pup, the bag, keys and set sail.  If you didn't know this about me, I happen to be a hard a$$ on the outside and it's true, the tougher the shell the sweeter the filling.  Traffic was crazy, and a couple times I did have to mash the brakes and check the pup, but sure enough, someone behind me was rear ended and so was another car.  The car in the middle attempted to flee, and then failed and I saw him get out.  Scared the p*ss out of me, and judging from his car, he had to have been in shock.  He wasn't just rear ended he was side swiped as well.  Why did he want to leave??? My imagination went in to overdrive, then all the thoughts occurred, should I have stayed?  I didn't see anything, but gee the guys were hit, what to do?  Then the...I wonder if he's in trouble and wanted to leave but realised his license number was probably written down.  Why?  I do this to myself all the time.  My brain never stops.  I can't remember the drive to the CCO, I was just praying to God for mercy.  I had a feeling something would happen, and of course, another one.  I kept thanking God for it not being me, but feeling guilty about it.  It's Friday, no one should be subject to this sort of weekend start.
Ah well, didn't do much damage at the CCO, the Golden Gate Bridge was closed so I decided it was best to trek home and call it a day.  Got a lot of my chores done, but am working on organising my makeup, clothes, shoes, accessories and fragrances for fall season.
I know some people have difficulty organising their large shadows.  I order these from Ni'xie and they hold ULTA, MUFE, and Stila eyeshadows quite well.
I took a bit of time organising my small sized shadows, and though the pictures don't tell I put the color category on the sticker, so my browns are coordinated and labeled and so on with all the colors.  It's not a clear lid, but this helps and I got the container at one of those dollar type stores.  I know a lot of people prefer using blank CD cases, but I have not had good luck with those, and if I'm honest, I need some sort of order as I get really strange about my organisation set up.  I hate to say it's OCD since so many people suffer horribly, but I do admit to having unhealthy obsession about storing my makeup and so forth.
Thank you for reading, this is my place to be superficial.  Until then ...
xoxo
Hello Beautiful Ones,
I hate Wednesdays...but I love makeup and I'm really trying to curb my enthusiasm for products, but bloomin h*ll, I go to Nordstrom's and they have this collection entitled, "Jazzclub" on display.
I must admit, I have never been into Christian Dior nor have I owned anything other than a few fragrances by this line *cough, price tag, cough* but I am all about the roaring 20's. I don't know if it's because of the style of dress, the elegance of the women and the mens Zoot suits but despite the depression, everything about that era appeals to me.
Granted, what I know has been via films, books and replicas and not all that shiny is glitter, but hey, a lot of women have expressed an era they wish they had experienced or one they feel suited their style best, and the 70s afros, bell bottoms and music didn't inspire me ever! I know a lot of kittens who can do the 80s Madonna, Flashdance, Neon, leggings, etc, but that era and I = epic fail. So, inspired by Josephine Backer and Dorothy Dandridge, I fell for the 20s and 3os and can rock a pin curl like no ones business. Yes, I bragged, what? I have to have something that I can rock, you all can't just floss and expect me to sit down can you? Don't answer, it's about this:Don't tell me you can't see yourself sporting this lovely number? A clutch inspired palette? Get the fack out of here! Come on now...what's a girl to do! Oh, you aren't the clutch type? That's sweet, they got you, here you go:

A palette with purples, buttery soft and no where near chalky. I understand why so many felines were pawing this little number. I got a swipe in, and it's so pigmented. I only tried the purple, as I try to maintain calm, cool and composed at Nordstrom because they don't play there. I have seen them "escort" women out for getting stupid over those monthly MAC releases and I'm not trying to lose favor with any sales assistance until Friday "cha-ching" so, yep it's on hold for me, and straight away after work, no cocktails, no chat over tea, it's about:
losing my virginity to Monsier Dior. We have a date and I'm going to be Anita Bryant and make sure I am "Giving him the best that I got" which is $25.00 nail varnish, $56.00 for the palette and $65.00 for the clutch, BUT it's my first, and your first time is supposed to be the best, and most memorable, so that dent in my check? I will remember it for 2 weeks to come. No credit cards=no lunches, cocktails, or movies. I guess I should make an account on Match.com for a dinner or movie *shrug* Besos!

xoxo

Hello Gorgeous!!!
I am really excited for British soul songstress Beverly Knight's decision to give it a go and take on the cosmetics industry. Due to frustrations with the limitation in foundations for darker skinned women, she took the problems into her own hands and thus became her signature line. Her line launches into Selfridges on September 17 followed by other retailers and online from October. She told Hello! magazine, “There’s always been a schism in the cosmetics industry when it comes to meeting the needs of darker skinned women,” she said.

“If you were black, your choice was Bobbi Brown, MAC or Iman - and even that’s almost impossible to get hold of now. You’d end up having to mix up your own from what’s out there or having to go to companies who do custom-made make-up. Whichever way you do it, it’s expensive. So you make do.”

“As a black woman, you feel like you’re outside of the beauty loop,” Beverley continued. “Before Naomi Campbell, the only black models were very light-skinned so you never felt part of it.”

Hopefully her line will be a huge success and we in the US will be able to try it out for ourselves. Granted, Sephora has made enough room on their shelves for other "new" lines, so maybe ULTA would be willing to give it a go. The industry is so saturated but I am really *taps wood* hoping this line is well received.
