I am praying the intent of this post does not get lost in the "personalities" but I have fun with some of the YouTube guru drama.  Why?  It's silly, and since things are so bad in my life, I am entertained when I find that "oh snap gurus are people too!"  I like Kandee, she's fun, inspirational and can whip a look together faster than you can shake a stick.  I don't doubt her talent.  In fact, I don't really watch too many tutorials to replicate looks, rather find reviews, get tips, find out what's new, hits and misses on products, etc.  I would be a hypocrite if I didn't say at times the drama is cruel but the people who are so obsessed with dogging gurus...I'll leave it alone and get to this.  So you see the quick tip re: L'Oreal true match?  Quick video and while it's not the "typical" Kandee video, it's meaning is simple.  Look good, with inexpensive makeup and here is how and why you would also contour your makeup.  Fair enough right? Well, not so much.  You see the bottles she's holding?  Now let's observe what she reaches for....

(hai thur new bottle)

Now before anyone gets all bum hurt, this isn't to disrespect Kandee.  The way I see it, Kandee is thinking "Sure, I'll promote your lousy product, but I ain't about to put that shit stuff on my face!"
I think this made my whole night.  Sadly, she is probably getting comments about selling out, or whatever, but these gurus are genius.  Who wouldn't want to make videos rather than be forced to work and follow protocol at a company?  I couldn't handle the mean comments.  Blogging is easy as it's writing and you can formulate thoughts, post pictures, ramble and network without being constantly bombarded with requests, insults, spam, requests for ________.
On the other hand, I don't condone when people don't disclaim they are being compensated or have been given a product for review and then the product is the answer to the oil spill in the Gulf.  I find it takes a lot of integrity to be 100% about a product in spite of having said company think they own your channel.
Again, this is not to put anyone down.  I emailed Kandee, tweeted her, but I reckon she sees me the way most viral Internet pseudo-celebs do.  I'm a mere white noise in their stream of chatter.  I'm good with it, but this could go wrong to those who have vested their "faith" in people.  We always come short, but you have to admit, even for a video, the girl is not about to mess up her face ☺

cheers luvs,

I took a different route to catch the train home today and ta da...they have the Christmas tree up on the lawn.  It's so beautiful albeit slightly anorectic.  It's sort of like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree; however, in the evening it's so pretty andto  I don't tend enjoy the Christmas season.  I can look at this tree and it makes me feel really happy and that's not easy to do these days! What's more the storm brought snow!  Snow?  Snow!  I love it, but some people are bundled up so tight they make me cold and I quite like the cold.  I'll take cold over heat any day.  I am having such a nice time walking through the Capital.  The music in the stores either makes me feel angry or sad, but the music at the Capital is quite refreshing.  What's more, there are so many people who are gravitating around to observe and take photos it makes my people watching more interesting.  I really wish I was on some committee responsible for tourism or something.

(watching the sundown on my way home!)
Some people, including me, don't really know how lucky we are.  All it takes is a dream, a heartbeat and a desire to have a new day, a new beginning and a new start.  I had heard about another ugly high jack of youtube guru Fafinettex3's account and it bothered me.  Not because she and I are affiliated, I don't really watch YouTube since there has been so much ...well, it's different than it had been in the past.  I don't enjoy them, or I need a break, but Aubrey is building her account from a tragedy and looking for a "fresh start."  That's a great attitude and I am a firm believer that people can start over as long as they have a desire and a heartbeat.  I may not be completely content where I am, but I am very fortunate with the little bit that I do have.  I may even start watching video's again :)

OMG!!!!
I am so excited about this post!  I LOVE this woman's energy, beauty, attitude, smile, eyes, etc.  I stumbled upon this lass in the blogosphere and immediately subscribed, she and Vex make me miss Blighty...but one of the lot has come back to the "Tube."
*disclaimer starts here*
Unsub, hate, leave mean comments, but I had all but sworn off YouTube.  Some of the most amazing people don't seem to get featured.  I don't know why it is, but the people I really like, who inspire me, and seem to not have let their online "celebrity" affect them (i.e. remain humble) seem to not get a lot of hits or well deserved recognition.  Dvora is amazingly kind, humble and her mega watt smile is gorgeous.  I am not judging anyone, but the drama on YouTube depressed me to the point of feeling more down and insecure when I used to enjoy it, maybe after all these years, I'm "over it."  I am so excited for this channel and all the positivity I know she will bring.  I  know there are loads of good people in the world, but some people (me) have resorted to living vicariously through others as a way of coping with some of life's tragedies.  I don't propose to put others on pedestals, but I cannot not acknowledge the people who make me smile.  I hope she decides to stay awhile, if not, she's still blogging :)

I have such mixed views on today's post.  I am sitting here and really thinking about blogging and it's funny that last evening I was watching someone promote their blog and the word alone sounds disgusting.  But, I was thinking, this person follows zero bloggers, has nearly 150,000 video subscribers, follows zero Twitterers and responds to....wait for it....zero comments.  Makes sense, her job is to earn a living via social networking and it is a lot of work gaining, maintaining and evolving with such a high status on the web.
So, I thought about my purpose.  I don't know what it is, so I stumbled upon a lovely videographer on ...YouTube (trying to quit the addiction) and she's amazing.
So, unfortunately, I am not using my own material to engage the few followers I have.  But, only part of my purposed for blogging is having followers, I am never going to be "that Blog" and thank the good Lord for that, but I do love the opportunity to learn and read other blogs.  They are so personal and I learn more there and at MUA than I do on any other forum.
Shira J. is so cool!  I have such a love for her channel, though she's in dispose with her "baby daddy" right now.  Why?  She makes me think, makes me laugh, gets me to not take myself so serious and I wish I were more like her.  Without sounding stalkerish, I wish I had a friend like her I could interact with. I have always been a free thinker and love dialogue from people of all backgrounds.  My greatest compliment was when and Aryan (sp) Brother told me he would be seen at the mall with me.  He is who he is, but a black girl who took an interest in why he chose to be in the brotherhood and listened to his view whilst not judging him.  He's quite smart, and I did learn something from him whether I agreed with him or not.
Right, Shira J.  She is the person I aim to be in terms of self confidence, esteem and the ability to not care what people think.  Sure, I say I don't care about others' opinion of me, but that's rubbish.  In my brain it hurts when people are mean spirited, judgmental, and say hurtful things to or about me.  Shira has been there and done that, but she wants to help others.  So many people are doing things under the guise of "helping others" but there is a "what's in it for me after taste."  I respect the ones who admit it.  I want more viewers so I can be a partner and have some recognition and maybe money or perks in the process.  Or, I want to get a makeup line, be sponsored, get free stuff et. al.  Shira doesn't do that.  In addition, she addresses so many topics of interest, I don't know how she stays focused (at times she doesn't) but you can clearly see she is having fun, yet very passionate about people.
Her channel has something for everyone.  I thought of Susan Powter when I watched her because Susan's blog talk radio personality is similar.  Susan is about not being stupid and Shira is about "Get Smart."  Her channel is about: spirituality, beauty, hair, nails, style, relationships, careers, education, dating, family, self esteem, race, gender, disabilities, and more.  She doesn't have a "studio" with high tech cameras, lighting, editing and so on.  She turns the camera on and the fun begins.  SugarFreeTV is an acquired taste.  You do have to have an openmind.  I included the clip I watched a few times.  She will ask the questions, and answer them, and the questions you think she won't (Shira, my hair doesn't grow, I have a nub, I don't have your hair texture) she has your back and will address it.  It's as if she's reading your mind.  What's more, she enjoys herself and it comes across and if the world were more sugar free we wouldn't have soldiers in other countries fighting but I digress. Get smart! :)

I have such mixed views on today's post.  I am sitting here and really thinking about blogging and it's funny that last evening...

Hello Beautiful Ones,
In my attempt to fall asleep, I was thinking about how it must feel to be Lauren Luke. I cannot fathom going from quitting my job and selling makeup on eBay. Using YouTube to demonstrate how to use my products, to having my own cosmetic line in New York City launch at Sephora. I'm barely allowed in Sephora let alone have my name in Times Square and have countless of interviews on national and international telly.
It's a bittersweet thought. On one hand, success breeds contempt and you go from "doing you," to having an enormous amount of people critiquing everything about you. I personally think it's a bit of jealousy. A "How come she gets...?" reaction, which, though juvenile, is normal. She's not doing anything others haven't done or been doing, it was "her time" if you will. We all have a purpose and a calling. The other hand, she has a lot of weight on her shoulders. Going from campy tutorials in your room to being on television, working with bonafide makeup artists can be a bit intimidating. The pool of cosmetic lines is a bit more like and ocean and not all survive, Sephora has bumped a lot of product lines in the last year for whatever the business reasons.
I then saw my girl Susan Boyle in Harper's Bazaar featured article. She looks amazing doesn't she? She has been through hell and back and yet she still stands, lovely, and humble and singing like a lovely bird to a cherub. Like the artist Gabriel song "Dreams Can Come True" is right, we have to get cracking on our purpose.
Susan is proof that one is never too old, and I wish more people embraced that part of her story rather than focusing on her appearance or personal life. We don't have a right to people's personals just because they are in the papers do we?
Well, I must get to work on finding my purpose. What's your purpose and how did you find it? Care to share? I need help!
Hello my beautiful friends,
I saw this last night, and it's probably going to cause me some angst among my Christian friends, but I love the paradox. I love this video because it means more than an "eye opener" to those of us who have a right to marry; but, the unity of people, race, gender, sexual preference and location aside, these lot were able to come together as one to share a message about discrimination.
Not to be preachy, but we really don't understand discrimination until it's in our face, we take so many things for granted and when anyone is denied a right, we all are. Whatever your position on gay marriage, try to fathom loving someone so much and not being able to declare your love and commitment because of laws. If we all stayed narrow in our minds, I would still be riding in the back of the bus and using facilities marked "colored." It wasn't just blacks who fought for the civil rights I enjoy, it should not be just gay and lesbians fighting for equality now.

Stay beautiful

Hey Gorgeous,

Have you told yourself you are wonderful, amazingly talented and beautiful today? Remember cherubs, the world is rather self obsorbed, we tend to forget to treat people with kindness, compassion and/or sincerity. Please don't forget to tell yourself what a wonderful being you are, if you wait for affirmation from others, or rely on others' approval you won't feel good about yourself as people are fleeting and what's in is out in a blink of an eye.

So, my news for you is that you can go to coastal scents and received 20% off the highly coveted palette a vast majority of guru's on Youtube praise. Sure, it's available on eBay, but why not use the discount and save on shipping?

Have a beautiful weekend,

B.P.

Hello Gorgeous,
I have been coveting bases and later, I'll go on a rant about something in the beauty industry; however, I found that my ULTA does NOT carry "Sin" but Sephora has it in stock for everyone. I was sent an exclusive invite last month for an offer to purchase as an Insider Exclusive but passed. Why would I pay shipping to try something I don't "need" for something I can get at the department store in a few weeks? Go figure that one. Another thing I don't get is how saturated we consumer's are with the need for that "one" item that will "fix" everything.
For instance, I'm going on a very low buy. If I say "no buy" my brain goes into "hoard" mentality and I buy more than I can use in several life times, so I am telling myself everything I tell you. I'm shopping my current stash, challenging myself to dupe a color and save the money, etc.
I have found the root of many problems and think I have it solved. You know I love blogs, forums, and YouTube for makeup knowledge, skill and inspiration. Lately, even though I have posted some videos, I have been very down on myself. I want women of color, dark skinned panthers, brown skinned cougars or leopards et al to see what makeup looks we can "rock." Since I have access and discounts to many brands, I want to try them and give you all an idea as to whether the product is a hit or miss or you make the call. I find that most of the popular "gurus" are not of color. That is why I love Ateyaaa so much but she takes a lot of hits for posting her information and it's mostly by the African American community? I cannot even begin to speak to this, as it really gets on my wick that people will knowingly slag someone online. I know what it's like to be bullied but to have your own peeps slagging you and other ethnicities appreciating you, something isn't right with that. Why are people so, well I know why, but it's sad. What's more, why do people put others on pedestals anyway? I am surprised at the "fans" or "Stans" out there. "Do people really think they can start a romance by leaving a marriage proposal for someone?" Better yet, "How often do women need to tell a man they have dreams or lust for someone on their comments?" In addition, the "follow me on twitter..." and then their marked "private"? Well, I am not one to "ask" for permission to communicate with you so you can grant or deny me, is not going to happen. Unless you are sleeping with me, in my inner circle or something of that nature, what about you can be so "secret." Do people really think they are that important?
Thank you all for allowing me to express my randomness!

Well Felines,
I began a research project about one week ago and it's odd, but I am noticing a difference in the results already. If you recall, I purchased LiLash from observing statement from a wonderful YouTuber Lollipop26. Well, since I am very impressed by her research skills, insight, classiness and not to mention pure beauty, I decided to conduct my own research.
I am trying out two products, one on each eye and in six months, will post a video concluding the results about the project. I am using Enormous Lash on the right eye and LiLash on the left. I have been using LiLash for sometime and I must say in the short week I have used the Enormous Lash, I feel more impressed by the latter. I have to say my lashes are dead curly. One of my fears is my lashes will grow in a reverse curl and not outward. On the right side my lashes appear to be growing straighter and thicker, whereas the left is remaining so coiled I can't see signs of change. What's more I have been using the Enormous Lash less amount of time than I have LiLash. I am not starting with long lashes, my lashes are so short I don't have the zoom to capture what we're gauging. However, I am keeping a journal and by the six month time frame there should be some sort of fuzz where I blink. Happy Hump day Kittens, stay away from dirty Tom Cats out there.

Paws for the Cause,

Beauty Reigns

I completely forgot to include this week's feature's video. I am sorry for that, I was trying so hard to cram so much information in my head I should have kept one post specific to Gossmakeupartist. Please check out his channel, he's been a working makeup artist for over ten years, has tons of professional experience and incredible tips for both men and women.

I must say, he may seem as if he's been crying; however, he states his eyes are red due to filming first thing in the a.m.

The UK seems to be dominating in terms of Youtube makeup guru's all well deserved.

Meow for now!!

Beautiful Cherubs,

I was driving to work this morning listening to people in Australia ring in the New Year. I sat next to a woman on the train, and said "Have a Happy New Year!" to her in Russian. It wasn't to brag about my linguistic/language skill, but I knew how nice it would be to acknowledge the day in her language. So many people are guilty of the me, me and more me thinking. I reckon that's how the world is watching the economy crumble, we have all got so engulfed in our wants and things that please us we rarely think about others.

For today, I make no resolutions other than to be better, do better and live better regardless of what's going on in my life. People will be mean, selfish and even hateful, but let not your heart be troubled. Spend time living life the way felines do. Live a simple life.

In other news, it would be wise to expect MAC to raise their prices as they do every year. Please take note to a very intelligent YouTuber by name of Gossmakeupartist, he is really incredible.

Along with a few others, Urban Decay has launched their Spring 2009 collection, as expected, they keep us bright and daring for the future.

I must catch up on a few things, but I want you to remember today and everyday that you are beautiful, and there is a reason you are on earth, don't let another person steal your joy and like cream, always rise to the top!

Until next year :)

Happy New Year!

Beautiful Cherubs, I was driving to work this morning listening to people in Australia ring in the New Year. I sat next to a woman on the tr...

Dearest Beautiful,
I am very saddened this week, which is apparent by the lack of pizazz in my blog for frisky felines. Today, I was really sad in hearing of the passing of Bettie Page. I am not one who follows icons; however, I do like women of a certain era. I read about Ms. Page and her story was tragic in so many ways, yet at the time she was still alive. What a ferocious feline! She had endured and prospered and survived so much, the rest of us look like feral kittens in comparison. Even the lioness Angelina "Mother of All" Jolie, looks shy in comparison to the fierce B. Page.
Incidentally, I have been uninspired by today's fashion. Not that it takes someone too inspire me, I'm often inspired by nature (true panther)moreso than by replicating another's art. I think the state of the global economy has taken a bite out of my usual playful attitude. My heart is torn by the political, economic and seasonal climate.
Each day someone went missing, is found dead, has been caught in corruption and to my left, there is more foreclosing, requests for buyouts, job losses, and I see people struggling to feed their kid(s), pay their rent and utilities, pay for their tuition and even one of my favorite YouTubers was doing a video with layers and layers of clothes, in her cave with a fire and still could not stop her nose from running due to the temperature being so cold. It took my little joy away since YouTube is a huge part of my research for all things cosmetics, beauty, health and social networking.
Maybe I do need to have less compassion and thicker skin, but it's quite hard watching the world seem to be in an economic nosedive.
Don't forget to think of your fellow felines this holiday season. If you see someone and are tempted to diss, growl or bite back, give them a pass right now. We are all in this together, and if we want to see change we need to be change.

Meow for now,

B.P.

ApropoM.U.A.!!!
I have been watching this foxy feline for several months now. She is Eastern European and I state that because both she and the lovely Nireyna (also Eastern European) have an amazing style of using a pencil eyeliner technique to cut or create the crease of many of their looks.
I first learned about this from Nireyna who referred to it on her YouTube channel as the banana method.
I have watched this video no less than ten times. I enjoy the music, the technique and, of course, the results.
I know this is not my work, however, I truly love to showcase and share the love of so many of you panthers, cougars, kittens, lions, tigers and others who are prowling around and publishing your skills on the web.
I have been contemplating what to do with my own channel and it's, quite honestly, stressing me out. Reason? How many gurus do we have? I see so much talent on a daily basis, it's sort of like being in California and becoming an actress. Who isn't? I want to say there are no dark felines; however, that's not true. In addition, what do people like in videos? Talking? Not talking? Brief? Lengthy? Then there's the whole lot about copywrites and music, w
