You become the kind of person who can live at peace with others"~peace prophet

I know we can't make people like or accept us, but for some odd reason, I don't like to let people down, and I don't take rejection very well. I knew when I began blogging it was my blog, about me, and for me, but that's not true. I want to share myself with others, my joys, my love of fashion and all things beauty and girly and possibly inspire someone else.

Recently, I posted about a topic that is quite controversial and I knew I may lose one of the nearly dozen of you who are kind enough to follow. To be honest, I didn't think anyone read, since I try not to track or look at the numbers. I would have stopped blogging a long time ago if it were about numbers here. I held a contest where all one had to do was leave a comment and they would get a free gift because I was not feeling eBay but needed to purge my stash. Well, the extra money was sweet so, it's not all bad.

I offended a follower and they decided to unsubscribe. I don't mind that someone unsubs, people have a right to do, say, think etc. how they feel. If I am not one's cup of tea, by all means, there are millions of other blogs out there, if you ask me what one's would suit you best, tell me about you and I can give you several.
So, what is eating me alive is that I offended someone. I don't care to do that, but I believe in tolerance and intolerance of anyone based on sexual preference is not something I can accept regardless of my personal beliefs. I don't have a heaven or hell to put anyone in and I cannot tell anyone how to live their life or who to find happiness with, hell I don't have any right to judge as I have made more mistakes than I care to mention and when I open my mouth a bone falls out so my skeletons are busting at me sides.
I guess I'm disturbed because I believe what I do, but I never intended to hurt anyone of offend them. I merely appreciate the people who put the public service announcement and respect them for having the stones to put it on the web. I apologize for offending anyone and would not intentionally do so, but if you cannot understand my disclaimer and why, then I accept your decision but please know this is not a blog about judgment or discrimination unless it's immoral, illegal or hurtful to others. Have a beautiful day!

xoxo

Hello Beautiful Ones,
In my attempt to fall asleep, I was thinking about how it must feel to be Lauren Luke. I cannot fathom going from quitting my job and selling makeup on eBay. Using YouTube to demonstrate how to use my products, to having my own cosmetic line in New York City launch at Sephora. I'm barely allowed in Sephora let alone have my name in Times Square and have countless of interviews on national and international telly.
It's a bittersweet thought. On one hand, success breeds contempt and you go from "doing you," to having an enormous amount of people critiquing everything about you. I personally think it's a bit of jealousy. A "How come she gets...?" reaction, which, though juvenile, is normal. She's not doing anything others haven't done or been doing, it was "her time" if you will. We all have a purpose and a calling. The other hand, she has a lot of weight on her shoulders. Going from campy tutorials in your room to being on television, working with bonafide makeup artists can be a bit intimidating. The pool of cosmetic lines is a bit more like and ocean and not all survive, Sephora has bumped a lot of product lines in the last year for whatever the business reasons.
I then saw my girl Susan Boyle in Harper's Bazaar featured article. She looks amazing doesn't she? She has been through hell and back and yet she still stands, lovely, and humble and singing like a lovely bird to a cherub. Like the artist Gabriel song "Dreams Can Come True" is right, we have to get cracking on our purpose.
Susan is proof that one is never too old, and I wish more people embraced that part of her story rather than focusing on her appearance or personal life. We don't have a right to people's personals just because they are in the papers do we?
Well, I must get to work on finding my purpose. What's your purpose and how did you find it? Care to share? I need help!

No sleep til....
Adam Yauch gets well soon. I heard the news this morning, but had to marinate in my memories.
The Beastie Boys were the first concert I ever went to, granted I was tagging along with my older brothers as usual, but they were spectacular. I bought a shirt that said "Suck my d*ck!" with my allowance and lied to mumsy and told her it was my brother's when she found it in the laundry. I had been so good about washing it when she wasn't home.
I love them so much, thinking about them with Run DMC during the summer of...well a long time ago. They were the first band (in my era) to bridge the white versus black spectrum in music. Long before the term "wigga" and Eminem was winning blaze battles.
I remember rappin to their CD with my mates knowing all the words line by line to every song. Thank you MCA, MikeD and the King Ad-Rock for the great music and fab concerts. You make me laugh endlessly and that will be the medicine (along with your friendship) that will get you through this tough time. I don't doubt you all have had your fair of hardships unknown to the public, but the public, your fans and God are all on your side. You will get through this, and we will be waiting for your return no matter how long it takes.

Warmly,

B.P. and Co.

Unfortunately, I am a little under the weather today, which has me retreating in my domain. Please forgive my lack of creativity, but it's quite hard to focus with this bl**dy migraine which makes the computer screen feel as if I am looking directly into the sun.
B.P. was ashamadely absent yesterday. I might add that it was due to reasons of my own making. Unfortunately, though I may be old in years, my behavior can be quite juvenile. Spiritually, I think this gal has run her gamut of self destructive behavior. I learn something new about life and myself everyday. Today, I am taking steps to not take myself so serious. I guess I feel I have a lot of "shoulda, woulda, coulda's" and for a woman at my age, I feel I cheated myself out of so much. I do get sad this time of year and I envy people who have a good supportive family. Well, I have to play the hand I was dealt, I have been independent for a long time, and I had no idea how much hurt and anger I carried within. Watching reactions from last night's election results did remind me that ANYTHING is possible if you believe in yourself and work hard enough! Well, I may be one of the oldest makeup gurus on the planet, but I won't let that insecurity keep my talent hidden.
This morning, as I was leaving for work, I attempted to take a photo of me and my little Eli for this blog. Well, dogs are not too keen on having their mum leave let alone posing for a photo. It became frustrating so, rather than be late, I left. Today, I challenge you to do something you fear. We all tend to be in our comfort zones, make a step toward crossing one thing of your bucket list. I believe in you, so you should to. Stay beautiful, xx
